Until FatBelly Festival 2019

In 2017 Gary started brewing beer during evenings off in the kitchen of The Cottage Inn, initially for a bit of fun but the taster was enough to start great passion within and paperwork was filed quickly to obtain a license to brew.

In the cellar of The Cottage Inn, FatBelly nano brewery was formed, initially with a 300 litre kit, brewing enough beer to service the bar above.

During 2018 the brewery was moved to the Mullacott Industrial estate between Woolacombe and Ilfracombe, here we installed a 10bbl brew kit, giving capacity to sell more beer to our Wonderfull customers.

Our philosophy is to brew the best beers possible using the finest ingredients, we are not afraid to take on a new challenge and enjoy nothing more than exploring new beer styles, We enjoy tradition and brew cask ale but we also love modern Craft Beers and lagers.

We are very proud of where we live, nothing pleases us more than knowing visitors to the area are pairing the Wonderfull North Devon countryside with freshly brewed FatBelly Beer.

Gary is married to Nartnapa, a highly regarded Thai chef who heads up the kitchen at FatBelly brew pub within The Cottage Inn. Nartnapa was taught to cook by legendary Thai celebrity chef Yingsak, she also cooked alongside her mentor on national television.
